What: Miami Heat Superstar, Five-Time All Star, 2006 NBA Champion, 2006 Finals MVP and member of the 2008 USA Basketball Olympic Team, Dwyane Wade, will bring together his friends from the sports and entertainment world for a fun-filled weekend in Chicago for the first annual D.Wade’s Young, Fly & Flashy Weekend to raise funds for a worthy cause, Wade’s World Foundation (“WWF”).


When: Thursday, September 4, 2008 through Saturday, September 6, 2008.

Thursday, September 4th

  • Carnival Cruise Lines Benefit Dinner & Fashion Show by Joseph Abboud at The Hotel SAX Chicago from 6:30 pm to 11:00 pm. Hosted by ESPN Sportscaster, Mark Jones and Featuring a special appearances by some of Dwyane’s celebrity friends.

Friday, September 5th

  • Community Based Event “Teen Summit” from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
  • Gatorade Bowling Event @ 10 Pin Bowling Lounge from 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm Hosted by Basketball Star, Chris Paul and local radio personality, Leon Rogers, with many other celebrities expected to attend.

Saturday, September 6th

  • “Get Your Roll On” Roller Skating Event @ Lynwood Skating Center from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm Hosted by comedian Alex Thomas and featuring a special performance by America's Best Dance Crew's BreakSk8t


Why: To benefit “CeaseFire,” a new intervention program created by the Chicago Project to reduce violence
and particularly shootings in the Chicago area public schools. The Wade’s World Foundation also
provides support to community-based organizations that promote education, health and social skills for
children in at-risk situations. Dwyane was inspired to start the foundation because he wanted to give back
to underserved communities and support issues of purpose.
